Hello All-
Just read something today that might peak your curiosity as to how a school, in this case Stanford, evaluates applicants pre- and post-secondary. I think it's an internal report that wasn't supposed to get out but some slick SDNer got a hold of it and posted the link yesterday. It's a really interesting read to see how they screen us and the factors they truly consider important. Notice how your ECs and overall GPA have no bearing whatsoever in whether you get picked for a secondary. Notice also on page 5 of where Stanford considers its best applicants come from:

It really does have a lot of fascinating (if difficult to read) statistics at the end. The most particularly interesting statistics were those of the "multiple" acceptances to Stanford, UCSF, and Harvard and how those lucky bastards 😉 made their choices.
