Starch vs cellulose storage

Where is each one stored? starch in leaves for short term storage? and cellulose in roots as long term storage?

here's the question:

Plants store sugars in the form of _____ in their roots.
correct answer --> cellulose
glycogen
chitin
starch

Plants stores sugars as cellulose....but another fact is plants store most of their energy as starch.
 
Plants can store cellulose? I thought cellulose is structural polysaccharide and starch is storage polysaccharide. So should not the answer be starch, disregarding roots or leaves?
 
I believe you are right. The starch then gets broken down when the plant needs energy.

So, now I'm confused about the difference between energy storage and sugar storage?
 
Cellulose makes up the cell wall in plants

Also kinda important but you prob already knew: Cellulose is a form of Beta Glucose (-OH pointing up) and Starch is a form of Alpha Glucose (-OH pointing down). Alpha is digestible by humans and Beta is not
