I posted a thread a few days ago, and I am in a little bit of a tough spot in a decision process. I have a large portion of the pre-requisites still left to take and do not want to go through the process if my case is hopeless.

This is kind of long, but I feel it is necessary to get my whole story across and would love any suggestions on how to spin my situation into a positive light for admissions committees. I am not trying to get sympathy or anything of that nature, just honest feed back and suggestions.

I started at as freshman at 18 years old in a large state school. I was majoring in a non science that interested me at the time, and was on an ROTC scholarship. My freshman year went well, but I had the trouble adjusting and my GPA was a little lower than high school. The physical toll of my military training took its toll on me and I began a string of constant injuries. Through my sophomore and junior years I had two serious problems plague me. (This is the hard part to believe, but I have legitimate proof) I had two ROTC instructors physically abusing me because my injuries were slow to heal (I was kicked so hard in the back at least twice, I had blood in my urine). Mind you the whole time this is going on I am having to take classes, and have it held over my head that they can send me to active duty if I quit. The instructors also had fellow cadets, harass me at academic classes. I finally had enough, my doctor warned me that my knee had to be properly rehabilitated, which my ROTC instructors would not allow. Long story short my ROTC program destroyed my cadet record instead of granting me a medical disenrollment and tried to force me on active duty without a proper hearing. (All this time I was trying to take classes). Further to complicate my situation my serious significant other who has mental illness from a young age, started having problems, which ended with her being hospitalized for a period of 2 weeks, and a period of 3 months, with a period in between where I was her primary care giver.

Problem is my GPA which is almost exclusively humanities classes is a 2.2 with 82 hours attempted
I took a change of Pace and am in a Nursing-Associates degree program in a community college. My GPA is 3.6 with 65 quarter hours attempted.
I have an A in Anatomy 1 and 2 , Microbiology, Biology,. With nothing lower than a B. Getting into something that I am passionate about has changed my academic performance. (Plus not dealing with military and crazy ex-girlfriends.)

My current plan is to finish the last year of nursing school and begin work on pre-med prerequisites. I have the opportunity to also complete an RN-MSN bridge for Clinical Nurse Leadership(not a nurse practioner degree). I would like to finish that so I have some open options so that if I do not get into medical school i can pursue a NP degree, while taking an undergraduate degree in cellular biology (adding an extra 70 semester hours to my GPA)

Biggest problem is that I do not know how my poor early GPA will factor into an associates, a masters and a full bachelors.

Sorry for being long winded, and thanks in advance for all of your help.
