Long time lurker, first time poster here.

I am a rising third year in the Army HPSP and haven't gone to BOLC yet. I don't believe I will have an opportunity go to before I graduate given my school's inflexible schedule. Thus I will have to go in June/July of my internship year.

I don't mind starting residency in August, but will this make me an undesirable applicant? I can imagine programs not wanting to have two start dates for their interns. Given the small number of programs and class size at each, I'm worried this will hurt me during match. I'd love to hear from those involved in the selection process on whether a late start date is a factor at all.

Army GME is well accustomed to having its residents start and end off-cycle. There's a decent chance that the program directors won't even know that you'll have to attend BOLC first, and if they do, then they almost certainly won't care. I would not worry about this any more.
