For Midwest it is 230k academic and 300k private practice, no difference compared to general neurologists but a better lifestyle. If combined with EEGs, then can earn a bit higher (but would have to read EEGs as well ofcourse).

Outside of maybe surgery and forensic training...you do fellowships because you genuinely enjoy and want to focus on the topic, not because you want to earn more money. You will actually earn significantly less money with certain fellowships.

A colleague of mine is clearing around 450K, but he has his own practice. He started at around 250K approximately 3 years when he was hired by a University program.
