Hey everyone!
I will be applying to Med school next cycle ( I plan to have everything ready before June 2011). When do you guys think would be a good time to start the application? How early should I start asking for LORS ? Thanks in advance! 🙂

You can start filling out the application in May, but you cannot submit until June. I'd start getting letters now so they're ready to go when you press submit. Just give them a due date well ahead of June b/c most profs take their sweet time. Start working on your personal statement in february or march so that you can write several drafts and have people edit it. Most of all, remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Make sure you're prepared when you apply. good luck!

Start the app ASAP. It took much longer than I expected... I thought it was going to take a couple of days, but it ended up taking a couple of weeks when you consider filling out the app, revising, etc.. I would start it as soon as you're done with school.

As for LORs, I would request them in January or so. That will give your profs plenty of time to write a letter. Send intermittent reminders to make sure they haven't forgotten about it. Easy as pie.
