Looking at the lists for SMP can be overwhelming, so I thought I'd ask some advice as to how I should begin.

I am a recent Graduate and I attained a 3.0 exactly with a 23 on my MCAT. I am retaking my Mcat in April, but in the mean time could I send in my transcripts now and tell them I am retaking?

Also, I have no ECs or letter's of recommendation, however i am retaking chem and physics as a non-degree seeking student so I could get them from them and my biochem teacher from summer. I am going to be volunteering soon... how would my late volunteer expierence reflect on my application?

You can go one of two ways here.

You could retake the MCAT in April, get your score in May, try to get ECs and LORs and essays into the application channel, and see what you get. Maybe you could take the GRE right away, to speed things up. You might get into Drexel or one of the DO SMPs. Because you don't have LORs or ECs, you would need to plan on a gap year after completing the SMP. In this scenario you would be looking at a possible DO acceptance after the SMP, but I would not expect an MD acceptance.

Or, you could wait a year (or more). Retake the MCAT when and only when you're ready to get a 30+ score, based on multiple 32+ scores on practice tests. Meanwhile you could get some ECs, take another couple of classes in upper div science, and collect some A's and LORs, get some work experience, etc. When you have everything you need to apply to med school except a strong GPA, you're in good shape to get into a good SMP and have a reasonable expectation of getting into an MD school.

Best of luck to you.
