Hello everyone, I would like to ask: To work as a psychologist at a VA, do you need simply any State license like many Federal jobs? Or do you need a license in the State you will be practicing in, where the VA is located? Thank you for informing a VA novice.

Assuming things have not changed recently, any state. Though, many eventually get a license in their state to have the option to do non-VA work.

I think there might be some states (maybe CA?) where you may need to be licensed in that state to supervise trainees based on additional local regulations. But you can still work at any CA VA with an active license anywhere in the US.
