Since it seems the participants on this forum tend to be better than average (after all, they are concerned enough with admission to dental school to find, join, and regularly view/post on this forum) in regards to their academic stats. Many of the profiles on this forum seem to state their stats (oGPA, sGPA, DAT AA) underneath their name, and in every case I find myself comparing my stats with theirs to get an approximation on how well I am positioned for 2011 admission (the current application cycle). I thought it would be best to group all our stats in one place to get an idea of the quality of the pool of applicants.

This is not a means to be pretentious with our stats, rather I just thought it would be helpful to have a number of people post their oGPA, sGPA, DAT AA and the schools they are applying to (including top choice) so we know what we are up against.

This is only for the pre-dents undergoing the current application cycle. Of course, everyone is on their honor. I just wanted a good approximation of the competition this year. Also, if you could recommend this post to other users, as the more people that respond, the more accurate the information. This is a crude approximation of competency as it disregards the personal statement, LORs, extracurricular activities, and interview abilities, but it's the best this site will allow. I will start:

Santiago12: oGPA: 3.61, sGPA: 3.86, AA:21, Schools applying: (6) Case, Pitt, Kentucky, Louisville, Boston U, and VCU. Top Choice: Case

As I see this is your first post, you might not be familiar with a sister website called www.predents.com .

This is what you're looking for.

Thanks for the information Paul. Still, if people would still like to post their stats, feel free, I think it would be helpful, even if its a duplication

Predents.com is far easier to use.

All numerical statistics are in one clear format.

Having people report their grades will result in strings of strange formatting that will be very difficult to sift through.

Trust Paulie; predents.com is the better solution to your inquiry.

the only reason why you might wanna be comparing yourself is to see what calibre candidates are getting interviews/acceptances= predent.com

not really the purpose of this forum
