Ive taken three sems of calc through calc 3 thus far. Are there some schools that still require that i take stat? Also, there is one stat class i am interested in called... Family consumer science statistics..would this be valid assuming I still need to take stat. Thanks

There might be a few schools (I don't know any atm), so take it in case.

You'll have to talk to your academic advising to see if that class qualifies or not.

I know that some schools are phasing out calculus as a requirement, and replacing it with calculus. Texas Tech med school changed to stats for the 2012 class. Some schools require calculus only. Others will take either one. Your best bet would be to take stats - it's easy anyway. Otherwise, just look at every school you plan on applying to, see what their requirement is, and plan accordingly. I say take it, because you never know about that last minute addition to your "apply" list; they'll probably require stats.

If you're interested in joint MD/MPH programs, a bunch of them require at least one stats course. I believe there's a handful of schools that require it as well. Pull out that MSAR and look it up!

Yes. More than a handful of schools I applied to required statistics and it's to your advantage to take it because then you'll understand how all of the science and medicine you're learning is actually proven that it'll work. The methodology of statistics is the backbone is scientific research so if anything, you should want to take it to help you do we'll in medical school. That being said, I believe there's a excel list floating around somewhere of all the schools and its requirements (might be the LizzyM one) where you can filter schools by statistics requirement.

Look at these AMCAS course classifications:

Stats is infinitely more valuable to medicine and medical school than calculus. Take stats. Some schools will require it, others won't be impressed with your lack of it. It also makes you more useful in terms of research.

As for the specific course, it sounds too soft and applied; take a real stats class -- either an Applied Stats course (often in a dept like Psych as it is a research-oriented course) or an intro stats course in the Math Dept or a Biostats course (also applied stats-driven, similar to the psych one).
