Will a lot of med schools (both MD and DO) begin requiring statistics in the future? I know that some schools already require it. The reason I'm asking this is beacsue I have already taken a year of calculus and not sure whether to take stats as well.

Statistics is an easier class and comes in handy when critically analyzing research studies. It's more about concepts and definitions than calculus.

If you plan on doing research in the future, you will need to have a basic understanding of statistics to effectively conduct research. Additionally, physicians should be able to evaluate a study and determine it's significance, and by taking a beginning stats class you can strengthen your anayltical skills.
