Hi Everyone, I'd like your thoughts on this.

Let's say I have a LizzyM score of 63.5, calculated with a 32 MCAT and 3.15 average sci/cum GPA. If someone else has an identical LizzyM score, but split differently, say for example 3.55 average sci/cum GPA and a 28 MCAT, how much "lower" are my stats ranked compared to the person with the higher GPA? Assume all other factors such as ECs are equal

Basically I am asking, how equal are identical LizzyM scores that are split differently?

Also, how do you guys feel LizzyM score applies to DO schools and their average stats? What would you consider to be within competitive range? +/- 1 pt? +/- 2 pts?

Thanks.

If you had a 4.0 and 22 that's a 62.

A 3.4 and 28 is also 62.

First guy doesn't get in second guy does.

Same LizzyM.

Also just as an FYI a strong showing in one category doesn't necessarily make up for deficits in others.

A 32 will play well in the touros though.

In your opinion, what kind of LizzyM score can I compete with?

Also, how relevant does everyone feel LizzyM score is?

Not relevant in the least.
I'm not even close to an adcom, but LizzyM was only developed to use as a guide in selecting schools. The impression that I get is that its a blunt tool, and surely has an enormous variance. It seems that there are plenty of students that get into DO schools with 3.0+ GPA and significantly lower MCAT scores.
A low GPA isn't great, but apparently DO schools have the ability and desire to review applicants much more roundly. If you have a strong upward trend, and have some other compelling pieces to your application, you've probably got a chance to get in a couple of places.
I'm sitting on a 32 MCAT, a 3.39 sGPA, but a 3.14 cGPA, so we're not so different. I haven't gotten any interview invites, but will keep you posted.

Oh, keep an eye on school minimums.
