Doesn't it seem a bit odd that most of the profiles have gpa and mcat scores listed that are above the reported averages for most of the DO schools? Now of course, it's possible that those with above average scores are more likely to report but don't you think there may be a bit of creative accounting? If the self reported stats are unreliable why not just eliminate them so they don't add to the anxiety?

I doubt the schools are actively inflating their stats averages. It seems that contradictions often occur because the stats averages the schools report to AACOMAS are newer than the averages they list in their own documentation. Overall, I'd trust the stats averages in the profiles more than any other set of stats you might encounter.

i was referring to individuals inflating their own stats on their profiles on SDN not the school statistics

People don't brag about their weaknesses. You'll go crazy on SDN. Don't think too much into it - the bottom 1/2 of the applicant pool usually isn't composed of the ones motivated to come on here.

Charlie and 618 .... hahahahahaha... thanks for the laugh!
