I am traveling to the east coast from CA, and I would like to get to the school the night before my interview. For the day of ther interview, the admissions office "strongly cautions against" making a flight reservation before 7:30 pm... so I thought no problem... only when I checked for a flight home, the only one that left near that time was a 7:20 pm flight, with an overnight layover in Atlanta, and it was $1500 😱 (way too expensive for me b/c I am on a tight budget) I can leave the next morning for $450... the bottom line, is it rude/inappropriate to ask to stay with a host for two nights?? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

i can't imagine how it would be inappropriate if you explain the circumstances. it may be helpful if you try to find a nearby hotel for the night though. if you can't find one for a reasonable price, that would be another reason for them to accomodate you.

Jessica i stayed with a host at Einstein for 3 nights. I unexpectedly received an interview at Yale so I was in town with no place to go. It's not all that big of a deal.
