hello, has anyone taken step 1 since May 11th?
what was the experience like? Im curious about the 'changes' they did!!

not to hi-jack your thread but does the score release time change since may 11? is it still the wednesday 3 weeks after?

for everyone taking their test between May 11th and end of June, the report will be July 8th..

Hey there,
I took Step1 in June and passed!!! BUT, and this is just my experience, I really felt like I was taking what a Step 2 should have felt like. I knew the ins and outs of First Aid, I did all the NBME's and was averaging in the 230-240 range, and on the self assessment on UWORLD I scored a 245. I really felt like I was going to go into the Step and KILL it. However, when i sat down and saw that I had maybe a total of 5 biochem questions and more than 90% of the exam asked about clinical details like: whats the next step in treatment, what is the second most common complication to look out for in a clinical setting, what tests would you do 1st after admitting the patient, so on and so forth... I freaked out. These are the types of questions I was expecting from something I would learn during clinical years. That being said, don't panic.... IF you have time, at all to look at a book like master the boards step 2 CK and just look at some treatment or diagnostic criteria (like using Xray, CT, MRI 1st or not) I really think that would be a great thing. If you can't get the book, check out the site Medbullets and briefly look up some pathologies you are "if-y" about and check what is listed under the step 1 and step 2 headings. Sorry so long, but I really feel like this exam didn't test basic sciences as it should have, and i kind of wish we were told that before I started studying and took the exam....GOOD LUCK!!!!

Oh wow that's helpful, so there was not that much basic science on the test but more clinically oriented questions?
