Hi,

I will attempting my step 1 on 19 april. it is a friday. will the scores come out on the 3rd Wednesday (that is 8 may). I read some earlier post explaining this. But is 3rd Wednesday still valid as of 2013 test days.

I am concerned to know since i have to submit scores. if the scores come out on 4th wednesday, i am screwed.

Can anyone confirm this 3rd wednesday for friday test day, theory. Are there any delays in step 1 score reporting as of this march-april 2013 test days.

I greatly appreciate the help.

Directly from USMLE.org:

Scores for Step 1, Step 2 CK and Step 3 are released each Wednesday. Generally these will include scores for examinees who tested three to four weeks before the release date. However, there are many factors that may delay an individual score release. Usually these will be quickly resolved and the score released in the next weekly cycle.
Your registration entity will notify you via email when your score becomes available. When released, your scores will be posted to your registration entity's secure website: for Step 1 and Step 2, either NBME or ECFMG; for Step 3, FSMB.
If you have not received your score within eight weeks of your test date, please contact us to determine the status of your score report. Please note that new scores are not released during the week of 4th of July or the week after Christmas.

does anyone have taken step 1 in 2013 or late 2012 and noticed this 3r wednesday rule effective.

ummm... I'm not sure how helpful this will be cause I took it may 2012 but my score came back on the Wednesday 3 weeks after the test. I guess this should still be the case. my friend took his on a Friday and
got it back 3 Wednesdays (3 weeks) later, I had the test the following Monday and got mine back the week after him (4 Wednesdays, but 3 weeks later)
