hi all,
i am ending year 3 with the medicine clerkship and plan to take step 2 soon after finishing clerkship. my question is should i do usmleworld questions during the medicine clerkship? or should i just wait until the clerkship is over? any experience with this scenario? thanks.

If you have the time, I would definitely suggest using the USMLEworld questions to study for your medicine shelf. Especially since you will be taking Step 2 not long after that. I ended my 3rd year with OBGYN and was planning on taking Step 2 a few weeks after 3rd year ended, so I used USMLEworld to study for my OBGYN shelf. I feel the questions helped me to do really well on the shelf. Good Luck!

I had Internal Medicine as my last rotation and took Step II about 2 weeks after that rotation ended. I did not use the question banks until my clerkship was done. I spent most of my time reading my text (read about the common IM entities), read in Harrisions about the diseases that my patients had and then did well on the IM shelf.

After the shelf, I used Q-Bank for 2 weeks and took the exam with no problems. My only regret is that the scenarios were long. I wished I had gotten more sleep the night before the exam. Other than that, things went very, very well.
