I was wondering if any current residents know whether or not Step 2 CK bears any weight for getting a competitive fellowship in rads? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is not important. Many programs do not care, many do not know what is the high step 2 score. Fellowship PDs are out of USMLE for 20 years!!!

Fellowship placement is like job hunting. It is not about what you know and even how you look on paper. It is all about whom you know and connections. Connections is the key.

This is why you should go to the best brand name you can. For example, I had one attending in his 70s who has almost trained half of leaders in the field. Just a phone call could secure you a job or a fellowship even if you failed your step 2CK.
