I have a feeling OP was looking to do more than just match. Those are decent scores and won’t keep you out of EM. They may hold you back for top/competitive programs, but not sure why anyone who wants to do EM would care about going to a top program.

Just got my CK score back, and man oh man, what a disappointment. Got a 237. Step 1 was 235. I really want to go into EM, and I understand that those programs tend to value CK a lot. Is this lackluster score going to hold me back?

Your scores are good - make sure you at least HP your EM SubI and apply broadly.

Lol nobody is getting into top programs with a 235 regardless of CK.

I don't think you know anything about EM.

Top EM programmes don't care about your Step 1 score as long as you cross a certain threshold - your SLOEs are far more important.

Any USMD graduate with a strong set of aways can match a solid EM programme with a 235 on step 1.

EM is unlike most other residencies in that a lot of the Ivy League and normal “top” programs actually suck for EM training because there are a billion other residents and fellows from other services stealing procedures. I’ve seen programs where residents haven’t put in a single live chest tube or done any reductions.

You’ll be fine op. Just get good SLOEs and do well on your EM rotations. Apply broadly. Good luck.
