So they are calling for a potentially large Nor'Easter to hit Sunday into Monday dumping as much as 2-4 inches up to 16 inches of snow in Philly (obviously, I'm talking more about if philly gets the higher end, more than a foot of snow. 2-4 inches won't do anything to change the schedule). Anyone have any knowledge on Step 2 CS cancellation policy? I assume they expect you to be there pretty much no matter what, it's your job to make travel arragements to be there ahead of the snow and I have made the necessary changes to my travel plans to ensure I'll be there on Monday but is there the possiblity that Philly gets so much snow that even the SP's and test center people can't make it into the center? Would they cancel it and expect the students to reschedule it in 3-4 months? We had a couple large snowstorms last year that had to play havoc with the schedule. Or do they not cancel under any circumstances?

No one with any experience or idea on cancellation policy? They are calling for 12 inches sun into monday in philly. I'll be there for my exam on monday, Just wondering what happens if CESC plans ahead and guarantees the exam will go on. the last thing i want to happen is find out the exam is canceled cause a test center proctor or standardized patient couldn't make it to the site and its canceled and I need to reschedule my exam and find a date 2-3 months from now. Any chances of that happening?

caveat: I have no experience with this specifically, but am just giving my 2cents becaue I've dealt with some nasty weather so far this season.

First things first, if there is a blizzard, the entire city of Philly will shut down and there will probably be no CS that day. With 10-20'' of snow expected I'd be very surprised if they didn't close down the test center because like you said, proctors and/or sim patients wouldn't be able to get there, and of course, flights in and out of Philly will be cancelled and a lot of the test takers won't be able to make it. It sucks that it's on a Monday after Christmas because there's no one there to answer your questions.

The most important thing is your safety. If you're traveling around the East coast tomorrow, chances are you're going to hit some horrible weather, and there is absolutely no valor in getting hurt stuck or damaging your car if you're driving. I'd keep an eye on the weather tomorrow and just make your best judgement. Chances are it will be cancelled and they will just have to make arrangements to reschedule. Be safe.

Looking up stuff online from message boards students posted on in previous years, it looks like they would indeed cancel on you if the SP's and staff were unable to arrive. Just show up and hope for the best, and expect to take the test like normal. If it gets canceled, then roll with it from there somehow. But I wouldn't let the possibility distract you from what needs to be done.

In Philly right now and the snow is really starting to come down. They've already cancelled the Vikings-Eagles games tonight. Anyone heard any news yet?

It would certainly be nice if these jerks let us know something ahead of time. It only cost me $200 to get here and $1000 to take this waste of time.

I'm in the same boat, keeping my fingers crossed that they've got plenty of alternate SPs who live in the immediate area.

Keep us informed with your experiences. It'll definitely be helpful to those who might get caught in similar situations in the future.

It's happening all over again here in Atlanta. I'll find out tomorrow & post for future reference.

The CS staff and standardized patients were placed in a local hotel so that the exam could take place. Always assume they'll have the test.
