Step 2 CS Recheck

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sorry to hear about that.

Get the Kaplan Step 2CS book... I thought that was golden and got an asterisk in quite a few areas that I attribute to that book. I initially used FA for Step 2CS, which I did not think was as good.

The other thing for the exam is to treat the patients like they are real patients because fake empathy or statements come across as such.

It is a random exam, and I was paranoid as hell about this for a long time. You're at the whim of the SPs.

There are also reports of the NBME sending letters to examinees about failing and then a month later it was a computer error. Who knows!

Has anyone been successful after submitting a recheck for Step 2 CS?

I have no idea how I could have failed the CIS portion - I shook hands, washed hands, draped them properly, made at least 1 empathetic statement per encounter, summarized their concerns each encounter, asked if they had any questions. The only thing on this list I didnt do was ask about their expectations/feelings which seems slightly ridiculous anyways when someone comes in with chest or abdominal pain. This is total BS and I cant believe I have to pay $1000 again for this piece of trash.

I have the same problem.. I am not sure submitting a recheck.. I am searching internet for 5 hours and couldn't find anyone succeeded.
I had a high performance in CIS portion.. I have very high performence in questioning-data gathering-information sharing skills.. but I failed in SEP portion.. If my English is not well enough how can I get so well performence in CIS portion.. isn't it ridiculous ??? I am shocked..! Please share your experiences.

Unfortunately I don't think you will succeed at your recheck request. Your message is full of grammar errors, missing many parts of speech in the English language, such as 'the', etc. "Well" is also an adverb, not an adjective ("good")... you DO things well, but things are GOOD.

Sorry to be such a nitpicker and get you when you're down, but there really might have been a reason for the SEP low score. I would recommend you watch a lot of TV and try to interact with as many native English speakers as possible. I don't think I'd speak your native language properly (so I commend you for trying to learn mine), but I think it is very important for you to spend as much time talking with English speakers as you can and let them know to correct your English no matter what.
