Step 2 CS result using OASIS trick

I took Step 2 CS 6 weeks ago. The reporting date for that period of testing starts from 24th May. I tried to do the OASIS trick today and it won't let me go ahead and register for Step 2 CS. Instead it gives the following belowmentioned message:

Our records indicate that you are already registered for this Step or Step Component. You may not apply for a Step or Step Component if you are already registered for that Step or Step Component. If you fail or do not complete a Step or Step Component, you may submit another application for this exam, but certain time limits apply when retaking a Step or Step Component. For complete information, refer to Reexamination and Reapplication in the ECFMG Information Booklet and Retakes in the USMLE Bulletin of Information.

Does that mean I have passed the exam?

Does that mean I have passed the exam?

The "trick" is an urban legend. I tried to register for CK and CS both before and after the scores were released, and was permitted to do so in both instances. My interpretation was that I obviously failed both given that I could register, causing some undue worry I might add. I wound up passing both.

Only works for ECFMG candidates, not LCME ones.

LCME here. I just tried that trick to see if I passed step II cs and it let me reregister. Before today, it didn't. However, it lets me reregister for step I and step II ck which I have passing scores for. Bottom line: like back34 says, it doesn't mean anything.

First and foremost this is only and only for ECFMG guys... it does not work for LCME guys and there are numerous instances where the OASIS trick gave them unusual worries and later they found out they had passed when they received the scores in their mail.
To be absolutely sure about your result
First wait for the score report mailing date to be mentioned in your OASIS account
Then go to the online IWA application....log in with your USMLE identification number and pass word.....then click on begin a new application....you will have three options but click on Step 2 CS...you will get a message in red saying you have passed the Step 2 CS
God forbid if you did not pass then it will let you go ahead and register.
REMEMBER THIS WILL WORK WITH ABSOLUTE CERTAINITY ONLY IF THE SCORE REPORT MAILING DATE IS MENTIONED IN YOUR OASIS ACCOUNT.
If you try to use this trick before the score mailing date is mentioned in your OASIS account then the comp screen will just say that you are already registered for the Step 2 CS..which technically means your scores are not available yet.

By the way guys thanx a bunch for all the helpful info you guys provided. My OASIS account shows that my Step 2 CS scores were mailed on 24th May..so I went ahaed and tried the OASIS trick and it clearly says I PASSED!!!!!

This is in addition to what I posted earlier under the heading " How and when the OASIS trick works"

Question: What if score mailing date is mentioned in your OASIS account but the IWA still allows you to register for Step 2 CS....does it mean you have failed?
The answer is a BIG NO by any means. YOU GOT TO WAIT FOR THE PAPER MAIL.
REMEMBER folks OASIS TRICK ONLY WORKS if your OASIS account says your score has been mailed and then you are not allowed to register through IWA.

Hello all,
I am an IMG and did the OASIS TRICK on efmg.org and i was striked that it let me register and go ahead. my score is already reported on 28 march 2007.
I remember that i did very well during the exam except for a case where i was confused and didn't the exam properly and forgot to do the councelling.
Does that mean i simply failed???????
what's the chance for an IMG to pass despite being allowed to register on IWA?
Please I will appreciate any help.
