Step 2 CS verbalizing physical exam

Quick question. For the physical exam do we have to state what we're doing and what we're looking for? Ie: I am listening to the lungs for crackles. I am inspecting the neck area for any masses.

Or is the physical just performed more or less silently? Thanks.

I didn't. But I did tell them if their lungs sounded normal etc. I don't think it's necessary to verbalize. I didn't get my score back yet so with a grain of salt. Also it doesn't say that in first aid to verbalize...for what it's worth

I would and did not say I am doing basic stuff. However, if you are doing Homan or another specific exam test specific to a particular diagnosis I would.
