Step 2 date?

My scheduled date is 9/4. I would like the result to be available when programs review my application. The result won't be available until the end of the month, while the submission of the application is 9/15.

I was told that programs don't start reviewing the applications in earnest until about 10/1 so it shouldn't make a difference. But I'm still wondering whether moving the testing date to earlier in August would help them see the score and increase my chances for the interviews.

[EDIT] Changing to August will involve significant travel to the available testing center. Will having the result by 9/15 make a meaningful difference, as compared to having it by the end of September?

I would do it if there are available dates, unless you really need the extra time to study for it.

IIRC, even if you do it a month earlier, most scores won't be back til that late September date anyway. If you're a U.S. Grad, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
