Step 2 for Med-Peds

Does anyone know how urgent it is to take step 2 as a DO student applying to Med-Peds. I took step 1 and scored 24x. I'm applying mostly to california, west coast, and midwest.

I think having a strong score in when you submit ERAS can only help you, regardless of speciality.

Since you hit 24X on Step 1 and assuming have been doing well on NBME/COMAT shelf exams, I don’t see any reason to put it off. Getting it out of the way means one less thing to worry about during Sub-I’s.

I’m a similar applicant and am sitting for Step 2 in May.
