Has anyone tried using Step 2 Qbank to study for shelf exams during third year? While this is an expensive option, it seems to make sense to me.

i did usmleworld and qbook for 2nd half of my rotations. i think it's pretty useful to get shelf-like questions. uw and kaplan (qbank, qbook) or only resources that are close to shelf-like questions and give explanations for all the choices (A-E), rather than just giving the explanation to the correct answer. for neuro, my uw score was identical to my shelf raw score. however, i felt that qbook was actually a better test prep source than uw. questions more closely approximated the shelf, while uw had an appleton and lange feel to it at times w/ some cryptic facts.

I did QBook for the second half of the year. I would definately recomment QBook over Pre-Test, Appleton and Lange, etc. My Shelf scores went up considerably after I started using QBook, and I aced Step 2.

I've used Q-bank for IM, Peds and Family Med (just doing all specialty questions for it). Got A's on both IM and Peds, haven't heard yet for family. I also used Case Files series, thought it helped a lot and was good for when you can't get on a computer.

How much did it run you to have q-bank for the whole year?
