Basically if your step II score report has come in before you send in your eras then you have no control over whether or not you want to release step II as your USMLE transcript will have both scores on it and they will both have to be automatically released. If when you send out your final eras and have not taken step II ck by then, then you can choose not to check the box that says that your ck scores will be automatically released when available to the programs you applied. You have to absolutely make sure you don't check this box when you submit eras otherwise there is no turning back. If you are not sure whether you really want programs to see your step II scores then you are better off keeping this box unchecked; you can always go back and release a new usmle transcript at your leisure if you score as desired and want programs to know about your scores.
