I'm prepping for step 2. i noticed some of the questions for step 3 are very much like step 2 questions.

I'm trying to do as many practice questions as i can.
do you think step 3 questions = good practice for step 2?

Step 2 is more diagnoses-oriented;i.e. do you know what the patient has? Step 3 is more management-oriented; i.e. expanding on what the patient has (a given you must know or a good ddx), now what do you want to do about it? What's your "next step"? This is a favorite.

i dont think Step 3 questions would hurt you at all. I know of a few people that studied step 2 written material, but when it came to questions, did some Step 2 and 3.

it definitely couldnt hurt you, but don't overdo and burn out! 😉

I don't know if you're preparing for the USMLE or COMLEX ... but for the COMLEX, the Level 2 and Level 3 are pretty much identical. Everybody I've talked who used only their step 2 sources to study did well on the COMLEX step 3. It is probably not the same for the USMLE.

And for that reason I heard COMLEX is actually a bit more doable than the USMLE exams(Step 2 & 3). I am an MD, can MD's take the COMLEX like the DO's can take the USMLE's? Is it an option for MD's and if so, can we apply for traditional DO residency training programs???😕
