Went to take the second half of this stupid thing so I can be eligible for internal moonlighting and imagine that, "We won't be able to administer any of the Step exams or GREs or [half of the other tests] today, something is wrong with our modem. Sorry! Call customer care!!"
Are you friggin kidding me? Your ONLY JOB IS MAKING THE TESTS LOAD. Two out of the 4 times I've shown up to take USMLE exams there's been something wrong with the test loading, although this is the first time I got sent home because of it. So there we are at 9am, day off work, the LAST DAY of my NMBE eligibility, and they can't even tell us when someone might be out to address the problem.
I think this is pretty sad. Being that they have no competitors in the computer-based-exam industry, I'm 100% sure I paid top dollar for them to provide a 70 degree room and a computer with my friggin test on it. How can that kind of operation NOT have impeccable redundancy in their IT systems?
"Sorry, we can't operate on you today. No Yahoo Games for the circulators!"
I'm curious to know how the ABA exam is going to be administered when it's computer based (not that I don't love taking tests on computer a great deal more than by pencil). Hopefully it doesn't involve these assclowns.
