How important is actually nailing the correct diagnosis? Assuming you do a decent H&P and write it up adequately, and completely miss the diagnosis, is this still pass-able?

I don't think anyone can give you an honest answer. You get no feedback and there is no info on how the test is graded
 
The patient's complaints are kind of vague and I honestly think that there is more than one plausible diagnosis for each encounter. I think that the object of the exam is not so much to come up with the right diagnosis, but rather be able to think through a clinical scenario, develop a good differential, and identify which tests to order to come up with an accurate diagnosis. Try to come up with 5 reasonable diagnoses for the chief complaint and you should be fine.
