How important is actually nailing the correct diagnosis? Assuming you do a decent H&P and write it up adequately, and completely miss the diagnosis, is this still pass-able?

Just wondering...thanks 🙂

The patient's complaints are kind of vague and I honestly think that there is more than one plausible diagnosis for each encounter. I think that the object of the exam is not so much to come up with the right diagnosis, but rather be able to think through a clinical scenario, develop a good differential, and identify which tests to order to come up with an accurate diagnosis. Try to come up with 5 reasonable diagnoses for the chief complaint and you should be fine.
