stil no rejection or interview from 8 or the 11 i applied, i sent htem in by 1st of Sept...would I have been rejected by now??? WHATS GOING ON???
still no rejection or interview from 8 of my 11 schools...should I worry?

Don't worry just yet! Think about it, the schools are probably INUNDATED with apps right now. If you don't get interviews by January, then call and ask ... right now don't jump the gun. It isn't too late to be given an interview just yet.
I submitted my secondaries in early August, but I JUST got an interview from BU yesterday. I'm assuming the schools are just slow, so don't worry.

It depends on what those 8 schools are. For the non-rolling ones, they're probably taking their time to review applicants one by one and send out interview offers slowly.
For schools like Northwestern, it's common for them to keep on saying that your app is "under review" for months, just as in my case.
If you're really worried about your chance, you can consider applying to more schools (Or is it too late already?)

Does anyone else see a problem with this statement? I mean, come on. It's mid October! Most schools interview through April or so.
What's more, I just interviewed at Wake on Tues, and was told that because we were there "so early" in the season, our chances of getting in were quite good.
So come on everyone and join in, let's all take a DEEP BREATH!

Guys, it is really really early in the game. If your secondaries are complete you are more than okay, you are doing great. Now for those folks still working on AMCAS, yeah it is getting kind of late but that still does not mean that they will not get in just that they will be competing for less spots in the rolling schools. Regardless of what you see on SDN it is still early in the process, I mean most med schools just started interviewing recently (past month or so) so do not worry.

yeah it is early........
and i figure getting an interview even up until january is still considered early and have a good chance at getting an acceptance........
anything after january.......can you say waitlist? haha. or the odds are greater of course that way with schools that roll.
so dont worry guys.

I'm in the same boat... been complete for several weeks now... and nada... nothing... I know some of the schools that I've applied to have sent out rejections ... so maybe its good that I havn't heard anything yet....
Still though I'm praying to get into somewhere... please GOD please... otherwise I'm going to be an IMG for life!

I'm with you guys. I've heard from 5 schools, and I've been complete for over a month at 5 more. I've only been complete for 3 weeks at the last school I applied to. But seriously...I've been complete since 8/19 at one particular school and 8/29 at another...you think I would have heard something other than that my file was complete! If they're not going to give me an interview now, at least have the decency to tell me I'm on hold! But instead, they just leave me hanging...cruel world...

Well, actually they may just be waiting to interview the "first" batch of folks prior to your date of application been complete. Once that batch gets done then maybe they will start with your batch. Also remember that with acceptances being mailed out, phone calls, e-mail that may delay other folks from getting interviews for some days....that does not mean that you guys are not competitive but that you are in some type of line.

stop looking at the *Official Interview* and *Official Acceptance* threads. realisticly, those threads aren't giving you any useful information. they are just boosting your anxiety levels. 😱 😱 😱
i am in the same boat - i have yet to hear from 8 of the 10 schools i applied to. if your file is complete, then you're cool.
there are a few really brightly shining stars on this site who also happened to apply to schools that are really on the ball and interviewed right away and sent out acceptances 10/15. for the rest of us, it's still a waiting game.

I just emailed an adcom about something the other day and she emailed back the response, and then said "your application is now under review and I expect you will be hearing from us soon." At first I was really excited, but then I started to think about it, and I realized I had NO idea what that meant. Maybe she was saying: we're about to send you a rejection letter. These people are so cryptic.
I got a thin letter from WashU and thought great, a rejection letter, but instead it was a really nice latter from a Committee person saying we are going to hold onto your application for a while so don't be concerned if you don't hear anything for a while. Well, that was nice. 🙂
I feel really discouraged. While I am happy for everyone who is getting in, well ... I am only human, and would like to get in too, or at least an interview.

I applied to alot of schools and I have only heard back from 4 of them. Today I called many of the schools just to make sure that my stuff was all turned in and there wasn't something I could do to expedite the situation.
Basically all the schools said that they had recieved MANY applications this year and it is just taking a while for the adcoms to get through the applications.

I know it's tough, but y'all just gotta bite the bullet and learn to take up a new hobby. I applied to 31 schools last app cycle, with my secondaries in by august at the latest (except for Howard, which I didn't send the secondary because it took them til november to mail one). There were still two or three schools which had not sent me a word by the time I left for OIS in June, despite the fact that I called once every 4-6 weeks to check they hadn't lost it all. Another school probably still has me in their hold category. It's cruel and mean, but that's how it works. No worries - some schools you might not here from til april and still get accepted, some schools you might hear right away and get rejected - chin up, you hate it now, but by this time next year you'll be happy.
