Hi! I’m so lucky and grateful to have gotten into both my state schools. I’m wondering if anyone knows from first hand experience or from friends about which is the better choice.
Stony pros
-closer to home
-cute suburban area with lots of nature
-small class size
-great clinical
Stony cons
-stressful environment (students seemed so stressed and unhappy there during my interview day)
-students are cliquey?
-some administrative issues since the school is so small
-really short breaks
-rent is kinda pricey
Buffalo pros
-students seemed really happy there (better work/life balance?)
-great clinical
-medium class size
-longer breaks
-cheaper rent
Buffalo cons
-hated the city of Buffalo when I visited
Seems like the location of stony is much better and the cost difference isn’t significant, but I’d be more stressed there because of the med school curriculum + short breaks. Not sure if I want to specialize so let me know your thoughts!
