Dear all,
Let me introduce my self. My name is Wahyu Agung from Indonesia. I am a 5th year veterinary student of Gadjah Mada University. I've got my degree on February 2008, and recently I still finishing my study to get the DVM, it will takes one year.
3 years ago, we (with my friends and the local vet) build a small organization based on animal welfare; we named it CARE (center for animal rescue and education). Day by day we could provide and operate social field related to animal welfare, animal rescue and education, till the international fund for animal welfare (IFAW) helps us to get the better result on helping animals, especially in our country.
This situation makes us mindful, that someone out there need to know what we've done, and we feel that they could help us to get the existence and welfare of animals. Thats why I, as I placed on the public relation section, make the CARE's website, so the world knows who we are... 🙂, as you know that Indonesia is a developed country and Internet is not familiar to everyone yet.
Several months later, I've just know, that The Indonesian Veterinary Association doesn't have a website. Then I call the people on it, but.... nope, they don't support anything. As I think I have ability and wanna help the Indonesian Vets, I decided to build a community site, vet community of course, and it runs well... (I think🙂). It goes on line on April 2007 and recently we have more than 600 members, Im proud when the visitors come and back to this site to meet to another vet and said Wow, hello, and Thanks of the well being of the site. You could read it on comments and guest book ups sorry, it is in Indonesian 😀
This situation makes me thought that, why I dont make world vet community website? it sounds great And then last month (before I found this forums), I realize it, started with the Vet Forum, placed on http://www.vetforum.org, I just can hope it will be a nice place to discuss anything related to the veterinary. I dont know how to start this forum, just make some categories, rules, ask my friends to join, and some visitors came from search engine started it.
Without reduce the honor to the admin and moderators of the SDN forums, we are welcoming you to use this forum, comment, advice, and support will be very helpful for me
