STP and Standard Condition

Why did they make the one for gas at 0 C and the one for thermodynamic for 25 C?...
 
I don't think I've even seen standard conditions used or at least not stated directly like "we did this super cool experiment using standard conditions...". Seems like they'll tell you if it's at 25 C or STP.

STP turns up a lot more in my experience.
