I have two offers for an I.M. residency. I have a husband and two small kids. I am interested in possibly doing a fellowship but I am not sure which one.
Hospital "A" is suburban and would allow me to have a better lifestyle, lower workload, less call (q5). They said that I could outrotate to affilliated hospitals with fellowships.
Hospital "B" is a base hospital for several fellowships and they say I would have the inside track for a in house fellowship but has a much harder work schedule and q4 call. It also seems to have much more varied patholology (inner city).
Is outrotating adequate to obtaining a fellowship or is it much better to go to a hospital that has fellowship?
😕
