Does anyone have any ideas what the best way to schedule interviews is? We get sporadic notices through the next couple of months, some from the east coast, some from the west, some from the middle. How do people minimize the # of flights back and forth? Thanks!

I am clustering them geographically but also based on one-way plane prices I see on sites such as expedia.com. November, December, and January will be my interview months. I want to get through about 5-6 per 2 weeks per month. My first three interviews were in the South, SE, and NE. I put those on consecutive Fridays. Further interview invites will be placed on the Monday or Wednesday of those weeks based on plane flight prices and distances between interview sites.

I'm still going through the process so I may have more things to say in a month or so 🙂 Good luck!

Last year I called and rescheduled a bunch to make travel easier. ALWAYS call and schedule as soon as you get the invite - programs often offer more interviews than they have spots for. Most program coordinators I talked to were very helpful about rescheduling.
