strongest lobbyist group

I know the AMA sucks but there are many more lobbyist groups for doctors. I am particularly concerned with specialty lobbyist groups. With all these changes coming which specialty has a strong enough lobbyist group to protect itself. To me it seems like american academy of cardiology and american academy of orthopedic surgeons have always been good at protecting their physicians. Any others?

The AMA surprisingly has a pretty strong influence as a lobbying group. Correct me if I am wrong, but it is stronger than any specialist group out there.

Personally I don't think any physican group has the power to protect themselves. The AMA doesn't wield the power it once had and the specialist groups are small and thus fairly easy to take on. Also realize that pharmaceutical and insurance companies are allways going to out-lobby doctors simply because they have more money.
