As an undergrad I was busted with copying an internet source without proper citation on a small assignment in my Philosophy class. I settled the incident with my professor, but by university regulations my professor had to report the incident to the office of academic integrity to be kept on file. I'm wondering if this will greatly hurt me on the application process; I just started recently, and now I'm concerned now that I am obliged to explain what happened on AMCAS and TMDSAS. Am I done? I guarantee all that this was an isolated incident, and it is no mirror of what kind of student I actually am. I'm hoping the med schools would understand as well.

Check to see how long it stays on your record. At my school, it's only on your record for 5 years, so kids who were affected by it usually just take some time off between college and grad/med school and they're usually ok. If your school keeps it on the record permanently, that might be a different story...
