Ok, is anyone else having problems getting the credit hours transferred/accepted from studying abroad? I studied overseas for one semester at a couple of different foreign schools through an American organization. Now some schools want me to get original copies of the transcripts from these schools overseas (which the American org can do, but the schools won't accept them mailed from the org) and have them verified by a third party company here in the states. THEY WERE LANGUAGE CLASSES - UGH! I think the most frustrating thing is that no one told me they needed this so now I've wasted several months thinking everything was fine and just waiting to hear from the schools when I could have been working on this!

What program did you go through because I'm thinking about going through CEA and if you've had problems then I'll think twice about it..

I went through AIFS which just organizes the program with local universities in the foreign country. I think if you go through an American school you shouldn't have a problem since their grading system will be one that schools recognize. If it isn't an American school, just plan way ahead and know you'll have to pay another ~$200 to get your transcript accredited.

No, I didn't take any prereqs overseas so I honestly don't know why it's a big deal. I sent my transcripts to AADSAS (as in from the study abroad organization) and they had no problem with the transcript, but for some reason UCSF wanted an accredited copy themselves (which means I have to have 3 schools in France send copies of the transcript from there). The best part is that they never told me this and then just told me I was rejected because I didn't have everything in by the deadline. When I called to see what they were talking about that's when they told me they needed it themselves even though AADSAS had already gotten it and converted it.
