Well i took a couple of the exams and was pretty impressed. Seems like you can even put in your own content and share you study material. Cool idea.

I don't suggest you use any materials that aren't mentioned on here. Chances are, if it's not talked about on here, it's either a scam or not worth your time.

Good rule to follow, because on occassion there have been people who have just registered and have maybe, oh I don't know, let's say about TWO POSTS total and both happen to be promoting some site or service that no one has ever heard of.
Most often they go with the "hey, have you ever heard of this great thing..." introduction. It's weird that such a thing happens, and low and behold no one mentions them again.

My general rule is that if "BobbyLou" or anyone with a derivation of double-first names recommends study material, then you should purchase it immediately. I also like to get financial advice from carnies because I find that they really have their hand on the pulse of the markets. I'll check out the website post-haste!

The insights of carnies is not just limited to financial dealings, because I got some great tips about social etiquette and fine dining the last time I was at the Fairgrounds. Now I must admit that I didn't catch either of his two names, so I can't give proper credit to his shared wisdom, but his advise about the chili cheese dog for my girlfriend and I was spot on. And the "get a second napkin 'cause you'll really need it hahahaha" caveat was truly a shirt-saver that no doubt helped me to keep my aforementioned sweetheart.
So while you reep the benefits of an eternally bull market, I will savor tubular processed pork parts covered with bean slop from a can with the love of my life for eternity thanks to the overflowing fountain of wisdom that is today's carnie!

I am not sure why you are slamming me? I just signed up today cause i was looking for information about the site and couldn't find any. Figured there would be some here.
On top of that there is nothing to buy. It is free. So not sure why you wouldn't even take a look at it.
I just wanted to know if anyone had given it a shot before I went to far in.

Please understand that we have been getting a decent number of people of late signing up and posting ads. Also, they would follow the same basic format you used. The reason why you do not see those threads is because the mods usually delete them. Over the years, this site has been rightfully wary of any new person signing up and making their first post telling people to visit a website of an unknown company.

First and foremost, as SN2ed mentioned, a benefit of the doubt is due to all newcomers. I apologize for my less than hospitable welcoming to the site. It's just that there have been so many instances where a brand new poster posts a message that reads very similar to yours talking great things about some service. There was a classic case with a certain foreign university about two years back that became a bit of a fiasco. There have been wonder-courses and several the best verbal book evers to get the same treatment as you are giving Studybarn. So I apologize for my sinicism, but please understand that it's a learned behavior.
As for not checking out the site, that's not the case at all. I gave it a thorough look and searched for the free MCAT materials of which you speak in your opening post. I was unable to find anything about the MCAT at that site, nor did I find anything I thought resembled a good test as far as an MCAT student is concerned.
I'm not sure what the site's end game is, but perhaps in time it will evolve into a great resource. Until then, I believe it should be viewed with skepticism, because there have been too many previous scenarios where the skeptics were proven right. Hopefully this turns out to be a really good thing for premeds, in which case I'll have my steaming plate of crow with a little salt and something to wash it down with.

There are other places where you can form a study group such as the Q&A section here. It's not only free, but gets frequented by some brilliant and helpful posters.
As far as StudyBarn goes, it would have been nice to let your thread slide, but you have four posts total here, all promoting a commercial website. Like it or not, it has all the markings of what we described before. No offense here, but it has to get the lock (the kindest treatment of the options).
