:confused: I'll be starting medschool in august at SRMC (in madras). Can anyone suggest what study materials i should buy from here to prepare for the USMLE step 1 while i'm in MedSchool?

Does anyone suggest the $499 Kaplan Medical USMLE Step 1 Home Study Program?

Or should i just buy some individual books, practice exams, etc. Suggestions of specific textbook titles would really be helpful.

Also can i get some feedback on what the pros & cons are of taking the Step 1 after my preclinical years or waiting till after my 4th year to take it???
