I plan on taking the CPht exam soon. Does anyone know the best way to study for the test? What type of materials do you need to study and where do you get them?

Thanks for the information. I will start from there, appreciate it

I just took the test one week ago and this is what was on mine. They tend to focus on the math a little more than brand/generic/pharmacy law, etc. I studied using mosbys book and boy did it help even though the test was not that hard to me.

i just took the test about two weeks ago, and i just got the results a few days ago...and from what i can tell you it...it's a piece of cake..i mean i bought the review book...which is the thompson book...the 2004 (there's the 2005 also)...i read through the book two days prior to taking the test..i dont think i remember anything from reading it. However, i did make the effort to memorize the trade/generic drugs...but as i can remember, there were likek a couple of those type of questions on the test, and MAJORITY is math! so if you can ace the math section, you'll pass it with ease...as for the other questions, you can just answer with general knowledge or if you have been taking some science courses, you can do process of elimination. They have a new way of testing..through the computer. So it's pretty simple... 100 questions and all you need to pass is 65...not bad right? Honestly, it's simple.. i mean..i didn't have time to study for it b/c i was busy studying for the ochem midterm...and at first i thought i wasn't going to pass...but the results were different. So don't worry, study math and you'll be fine. Good luck!:luck:

I think you need 73 correct answers/100 to pass. 650 is passing score of 900

The best book is The Pharmacy Technician 3rd edition. 454 pages. $65
