Hey!

Through a bunch of back and forth with myself, I decided to sign up for the MCAT on May 19, 2018. The biggest problem I see is that I have no time to “full time” study. I started passively studying during winter break when I thought I was gonna skip this cycle but I was determined to at least give this cycle a shot. I’m currently in my spring junior semester and my MCAT is the weekend after my finals.

Classes aren’t too bad. Personality and social psychology coupled with behavioral neuroscience (prob the hardest one) are my main classes that I’m taking. The biggest problem is finding time to study. I’m trying to get at least 2 hours in every day and more on the weekend.

Basically, I just wanted to get some advice and tips on studying for the mcat during the semester. Should I not focus too much on content and do a lot of practice? I have the Princeton set and am almost done with biochem leaving me 6 other books.

Any help will be greatly appreciate by this struggling PreMed!

I am on the same path , only i am taking 4 classes and working full time , Mcat -May 19 in Miami

I’m in the same boat! May 19 mcat with a full time semester ahead of me. Luckily I’m taking ochem II, physics II, and phys so I’ll be studying for the mcat while studying for my classes. But in other people’s cases, I think its best to dedicate those in-between or before class breaks to mcat (I’ll be studying strictly mcat MWF until class at 11:30, no exceptions) and do hw at night but also dedicate a couple hours a night to only mcat. We’ll see how it goes. I also think its a good idea to set goals each study time i.e “1 chapter of bio by 11:30”

Also, do content review up until about 10 weeks before the mcat. Make sure you practice CAR passages everyday though, starting now. Then, take full lengths leading up to may 19.

Good luck!

If you're only taking three classes, what's taking up all the other time you could use to study? Or are you taking more than just those three?
