I am a Dental Student at the University of Utah and just finished my second year. I am looking to apply for Orthodontics Residency after this coming school year. I have a busy summer with clinic and in making an Orthodontic Program at our school which I think is worth the time that it is taking up.

How difficult is the GRE and how much time should I plan on studying for it? I have a couple of weeks off in August I can use to cram for it, or would it be better to study for it at night after class during the fall and take it at the beginning of Christmas break? I am pretty good at Math but my writing skills and vocabulary aren't great. Also, if anyone has an opinion, how important are GRE scores on getting accepted into an orthodontic program?

Thanks for your help, and I would appreciate any other advice that you might have!
