Hi,

Im planning to apply for ortho in the future and I wanted to ask for some advice in regard to the GRE, whether I should retake it - I took it recently didnt do that great and got a V156 Q153 and writing 4.

I mainly used magoosh, did a few sections from manhattan 5lb quant questions, and the ETS quant book. Any advice to help improve my score espectially the quant or if I shouldn’t worry and just leave it and not retake it. Thanks

No retake it!
Watch videos from this guy on
Greg mat. Youtube, he has his own website too..he has good strategies
And the tested tutor
Also finish the whole book of 5lb for Quant..people don't recommend their vocab
And finish all exams and books by ets especially the vocabulary
For the essay.let chatgpt score you
Quizlet 1000 gre vocab..try to study 50 everyday
Also..the test is shorter now..did you take long or new short version?

Thank you for the advice! Didnt think to use chagpt to check the essay ill have to do that this time. Yeah ill definitely retake it im doing anki for the vocab and have to get to work with the quant and I took the shorter version so it was only 2 hours. I really want to get a 160 on both sections i feel that’ll be a good enough score?

Yes anything in 160s and above is good enough and you can do it for sure if you practiced more and focus on your weak spots.
I retook and took it at home and did better. So maybe consider such option!
Best of luck!
