Studying in Optometry school

By how much do people study in optometry school? I am trying to get a rough estimate how much I will be needing to study to maintain above a 3.0 GPA. I will be a 1st year this upcoming fall.

Depends on the school and what grade you want. For 3.0, it shouldn't be too much. Just 2-3 hrs everyday and little more on days before an exam.

I don't study anywhere close to 2-3 hours outside of class (maybe 1) everyday, just mainly before exams, and I have way higher than a 3.0 and I'm no genius. You can get along with going along with the lectures, but you forget a lot and end up cramming anyway. It's impossible to avoid.

Well I have an excellent gpa in undergrad and I barely studied. I am no genius either but I did study for exams the night before.

We're all aware of your superiority complex with going to UAB. Unless you have gone to all opto schools in the country, you can't compare curricula. I had no interest in going there, so stop.

I depends largely on the school and your abilities. If things come quickly to you, studying less often gives the same reward as having a tough time with material and studying constantly.

I can say it's drastically more difficult than undergrad.
