Hey guys I got some tests coming up: Chem 101 test and Calc 1 test this coming up monday, Bio 101 lecture test and bio 111 lab tests on next thursday, and a philosophy test next friday. I'm going to start studying a week before each test respectively. I am wondering if you guys know ways that work for you on how to study, whether it be tips, methods, advice, etc. Maybe tell me how you guys study, specifically for subjects if possible? I would really appreciate it, so if you guys could help me out, that would be great.

Thanks!

Calc and some chapters of chem are all about practice problems. I prefer professor's old exams and questions they suggest rather than random book problems.

Bio is just straight memorization of slides/facts. Of course you must understand what is going on, but I really hone in on facts presented in the professor's notes and reread them until I can tell you the facts without looking. Old practice exams are also useful for looking at.

As long as I've kept up with readings and class notes in the weeks before the test, I usually do well with a review of notes/practice problems a day or two before the test.

👍

And avoid SDN (it tends to be addicting).

Try giving a lecture about the material to a friend or roommate. (Maybe you two can take turns listening in)

The concepts you have trouble explaining or are momentarily blanking out on are the ones you need to go over and review. Do this until you can teach the material perfectly. This might be slight overkill, but better over prepared than under.
