I was looking at my transcripts, and while I don't have a trend necessarily, I do see a pattern. I have noticed that my highest GPA semesters have been the ones with heavy course loads >17 credits. The best example is my 6.0 credit semester with a 3.0 and my 21 credit semester with 3.89. I feel like my studying is most efficient with that extra pressure or stress, not sure why. Is anyone else like this? I wonder if that will transfer over into medical school.

I'm similar. If I don't have enough going on, it's hard to strike a balance. For example, during the semester, I take a balanced load, work a few jobs, do a few ECs, whatever and so I value my time a little more. I'll wake up a few hours before class to get homework done, use my time on campus wisely, etc. so I can still do my own thing during the nights. If I don't have much happening, it's easy for me to sit back, waste time online or something, and say "oh, I have time."

...and another thing I noticed this semester about pressure is that I'm oddly good at redemption. You'd be suprised how much killing your last few exams/practicals/whatever can boost your grades... Not that I'd do THAT again, 🙄.
