Are you allowed to study while waiting in line? Someone posted about how long they had to wait to be admitted. Can you study while waiting or is that considered cheating?

Also. How early should you get there. I'm testing at 8:30. Should I get there at 8:00?

I think 8:00 is good. It's good to have some extra time so that way you don't feel rushed or end up late. You can study while you wait for the test (at least at my center you could). It seemed like most people were studying before the test.

I didn't see anyone doing it at my center, but you could have if you wanted. I wouldn't suggest it though. At that point you should be concentrating on clearing your mind and relaxing. You should already know all the information by then, and if you're relaxed then it will help you pull that infomation while you're taking the test.

I wouldn't advocate taking that chance, bringing study materials to the testing center... Also, the PCAT isn't a test of your short-term memory- it's a test of concepts that should have crystallized before the day of the exam.

I would suggest arriving early. Parking close to the center. Studying in your car. 2-3 minutes till go stand in line.

Agreeing with the previous post. Only refresh, not study. On test day you should know it, you should be just getting info FRESH again. 🙂

i agree with that notion...

No matter the testing center, any decent proctor will not allow you to be near your studying materials while in the testing room. From there, there are variations depending on the leniency of proctor.

As for studying while waiting to be admitted, that once again depends on location and proctor. My testing location was in a student union and I noticed people studying in the common area before the exam. But some places and proctors may not be so liberal with the rules.

I second that you probably won't gain much from last-second studying though you could review your writing strategy and that one equation that you always seem to forget.🙂

There are always a few things that just won't "stick" in my brain so I am making a 1-pager to look over just before the test. That way I can fold it up and put it in my purse/pocket or just throw it away.
